Frequently asked questions
How long does it take for pages to get indexed?
Typically you'll see the first results within less than a day - we've seen pages get indexed within a minute, but it can take a few days.
Is there a limit to the number of pages a site can have?
No, but the number of pages we can audit per day is limited to 2000 per site, so for larger sites it will just take longer.
What if my site doesn't have a sitemap?
A sitemap is currently required so CrawlScout knows which URLs to track. It's also how we detect new pages as they're added and pages being removed.
Does this guarantee that my pages will get indexed?
No, but it increases the odds - and reduces the time it would take otherwise. Search engines will still examine the quality and relevance of your pages.
What do I need to set up auto-indexing?
It depends on the search engine. For Google, you create a Google Service Account and grant it access to your site in Search Console, so we can submit URLs on your behalf. For IndexNow (used by Bing and others), you upload a key file to your site's root directory.
